Rho Lambda National Sorority Leadership Recognition Society

Purpose
The purpose of Rho Lambda is to honor those women within the sorority community who have exhibited the highest qualities of leadership and service to their Greek community and their sorority. They are women who have furthered the ideals and principles of the Greek community throughout their years of sorority affiliation.
History
Rho Lambda was founded at the University of Miami as a local group in 1962 under the direction of Dean Louise P. Mills. To date, over 218 chapters have been chartered throughout North America, each sharing the common goal of recognizing sorority women for their outstanding leadership.
Eligibility
The following qualifications are required for consideration of membreship into Rho Lambda:
- Women who in the opinion of the membership of Rho Lambda have displayed outstanding leadership, ability, and loyalty throughout their years of sorority affiliation shall be eligible for membership.
- Nominations for membership may be submitted to the current members of Rho Lambda, by the president, and the local advisors of each national sorority.
- An overall grade point average of a 3.15 (on a 4.0 scale) is required for membership.
- Only active members in their junior or senior year are eligible.
- A candidate must be a regularly enrolled, full-time undergraduate student in the university.
- The maximum number of members to be elected in any year is 10% of the total Panhellenic membership.

2011-12 applications are now available. Click here to download the application. Please return your completed application to the Rho Lambda mailbox in Harper 21 (Greek Life Office) by 4pm on Monday, March 28, 2011. Selected applicants will be required to pay a one-time membership fee of $65.
